Martin Smith's second commissioned short film TRACKS starring David MacNeil, Ryan Wallace, Tony Martin, John Cowan and Paul Stewart has won the BAFTA Scotland Award for 'Best Short Film'. This is in addition to being Highly Commended at the TCM Turner Classic Movies Competition and its 'Best UK Film' Nomination at the Raindance Film Festival and 'Best of UK Shorts' Nomination at The Leeds International Film Festival. It has been described as "a shocking and naturalistic portrayal of children's cruelty in a powerful, raw and affecting film".
The project was commissioned by Digicult with funding through the UK Film Council, Scottish Screen and GMAC. Martin was excited to shoot the project with La Belle Allee Productions Karen Smyth, casting director Kahleen Crawford and with award winning director of photography Tom Townend. Sound was by Chris Campion and post production took place at La Belle Allee and The Base. Martin edited the film himself on Final Cut Pro.
