21.05.10 JUST ENOUGH DOUBT has been nominated Best Short Film at The Jim Poole Scottish Short Film Awards. The film's UK premierre will take place at the Cameo Cinema on Sunday 30th May.

31.04.10 JUST ENOUGH DOUBT has been selected to appear at British Cinema Week at The Dieppe Scene Nationale in France, where it will gets its International Premierre. It will screen with Shane Meadow's SOMERS TOWN from the 3rd-7th May.

12.09.09 JUST ENOUGH DOUBT, commissioned by the Toronto International Film Festival Talent Lab is to be Martin's next short film. Martin is excited to be shooting the project with La Belle Allee Productions Karen Smyth, casting director Abigal Maydew and with award winning director of photography George Geddes in the autumn of 2009.

01.09.09 Martin has been commissioned by the Toronto International Film Festival to make a short film for the Talent Lab. The film will screen during the Lab in Toronto in September.

01.08.09 PRESS RELEASE: Scottish BAFTA winning filmmaker Martin Smith has been selected for the Talent Lab at this years Toronto International Film Festival. The Talent Lab offers an unparalleled education experience and an introduction to the global community of filmmaking. Over a four-day period, selected participants have the opportunity to interact with and learn from internationally acclaimed filmmakers. Guests have included directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, Terence Davies, Brian DePalma, Atom Egoyan, Terry Gilliam, Paul Haggis, Guy Maddin, Steve McQueen, Fernando Meirelles, Carlos Reygadas and Gus Van Sant. Martin's Governors are Danny Boyle, Miranda July, Don McKellar and John Collee. Martin is currently developing his debut feature film FIRES with La Belle Allee Productions. FIRES is supported by Scottish Screen National Lottery through the Content Development Fund.

12.05.08 Martin's feature screenplay FIRES has been awarded development funding by Scottish Screen. Martin is delighted to be working with story editor Paul Welsh and producer Karen Smyth of La Belle Allee Productions, who previously collaborated with him on his Scottish BAFTA winning short film TRACKS.
